As summer approaches, many people are inclined to get outside and go for walks, hikes, runs, etc. These are great and healthy habits encouraging movement, which the body obviously loves. However, this is also a time when people will notice foot/ankle pain, knee pain, hip pain, low back pain, etc. It begs the question, is this pain truly coming from the ankle joint, the knee joint, or the hip joint or is the issue coming from your feet? Our body is one big kinetic chain and our feet are our foundation. With an unsteady foundation, the walls (our body) will crumble.
How can we support our foundation?
Simply put, orthotics. Here at Miller Sports & Family Chiropractic, we utilize Foot Levelers Orthotics. Why? Foot Levelers is the world’s leading provider in designed CUSTOM orthotics. Why does custom matter? Let’s use an example. Patient A is a 240 pound, 5’11” male working in a machine shop wearing steel-toed boots. Patient B is a 150 pound 5’4” female teacher who wears dress shoe flats. They both are experiencing foot pain. They drive to the store and purchase the same exact orthotics from the shelf. Neither experience relief. Why? They are built totally different, they are different genders, they wear different shoes, they stand on different surfaces, etc. One size truly does not fit all when it comes to orthotics.
Foot Levelers Brand

From lightweight, heavyweight, leather, waterproof, breathable, shock-absorbing, even odor-controlling, there are a variety of options to best suit your specific lifestyle. There are also length options to accommodate dress shoes, high heels, sneakers, and boots. There are child sizes also available because yes, kids can benefit from orthotic support as well!
Ready to support your foundation?
Here at Miller Sports & Family Chiropractic, we have a 3D laser scanner. Patients simply stand with their bare feet within the laser panel and let the machine do the work! After scanning both feet, the machine sends a visual picture of the scan to the computer allowing us to see what the feet in front of us look likes compared to a “normal” foot with optimal support. This allows us to easily assess if orthotics are warranted! If yes, customization occurs to find the perfect material, size, and length for each individual patient. All information is sent to Foot Levelers and in about one week, the orthotics arrive at our office! Now, let’s take some time to love our feet. Give our office a call to schedule today!
